Black Forest National Park

In 2014, the Black Forest National Park was opened. The National Park Center is only 15km from our house, there is a year-round program with the Black Forest Rangers offered.

The Black Forest High Road

Our hotel is located directly on the Black Forest High Road on the plateau at just under 1000 m.ü.M. The most famous tourist road of the Black Forest connects Freudenstadt and Baden-Baden, and leads in addition to numerous lookout points to attractions such as the Mummelsee, Hornisgrinde, Bühlerhöhe, and the Lotharpfad at the Schliffkopf.

In our environment

Freudenstadt

Freudenstadt is 730 meters above sea level. It was founded in the late renaissance style in 1599. With Germany's largest market square - framed by arcades - Freudenstadt has long been considered a tip for tourists on the Black Forest. The bubbling fountains at the Lower Market Square are a magnet for young and old.

The "Panoramabad" in Freudenstadt with adventure area, sports pool (25m), diving pool, giant slides, sauna landscape u.v.m. belongs to the most popular and beautiful leisure baths in the Northern Black Forest.

In the Black Forest

In addition to the nearby recreational activities, you can reach many other attractions in the Black Forest with half-day or day trips.

  • Europa-Park: Germany's largest amusement park is just under 75 km away from us.
  • Triberg Waterfalls - Germany's highest waterfalls. You will also find in Triberg the Black Forest Museum and the world's largest cuckoo clock
  • Open air museum Vogtsbauernhof - impressive Black Forest houses and much more can be visited there
  • The Black Forest Railway between Gutach and St. Georgen
  • The most interesting cities in the area are Baden-Baden, Straßburg and Freiburg
  • The Westweg, the most famous long-distance hiking trail in the Black Forest, passes the Alexanderschanze just a few kilometers past our hotel.

Winter sports

In winter, the level of snow is almost guaranteed. Along the Black Forest High Road you will find numerous ski lifts and excellent conditions for cross-country skiing. Also snowshoe tours are offered.
